Indiana University Gateway–India Office

Building on its long history of engagement with India, in February 2013 Indiana University opened its first overseas office, in India.

The IU Gateway–India office provides a home base for IU activities. Located in Gurgaon, a southern suburb of New Delhi, the IU Gateway supports:

  • scholarly research and teaching
  • conferences and workshops
  • study abroad programs
  • distance learning initiatives
  • student recruitment activities
  • executive and corporate training
  • alumni engagement events
  • fundraising campaigns

Housed in a 3,700-square-foot suite, sharing the beautiful Gurgaon headquarters of the American Institute of Indian Studies (AIIS), an NGO run by a consortium of U.S. colleges and universities, the IU Gateway space includes:

  • faculty offices
  • conference room for up to 30 participants
  • small classrooms for up to 15 students
  • open area for holding receptions and lectures
  • kitchen
  • terrace garden for outdoor receptions

On-site staff assists with:

  • identifying local experts for curriculum needs including lectures and language teaching
  • planning the logistics of transportation, lodging, and meals
  • coordinating IT needs, equipment, and supplies
