IU China Gateway Reception & Musical Performance

Colleagues and friends of the Indiana University are invited to join us at the IU China Gateway, Beijing for a matinee musical performance and networking reception. This event is by invitation only.

Performing artists:

Ms. Binghui SUN, pianist, graduated from Wuhai Conservatory of Music with a Master’s degree in piano playing. She is currently a piano accompanist at the Academy of Opera, Peking University

Ms. Yingge LIU, opera singer, graduated from Manhattan School of Music with a Master’s degree in opera singing. She is going to study at Indiana University’s Jacobs School of Music this fall as the winner of the Artistic Excellence Award. Ms. Liu is currently teaching and performing at the Academy of Opera, Peking University.

Mr. Ye CHEN, a baritone vocalist, graduated from Hochschule für Musik und Theater Hannover with a Master’s degree in opera singing. He received his Ph.D in vocal performance from the University of Minnesota and also studied at Indiana University’s Jacobs School of Music for a certificate program in vocal performance. Mr. Chen currently teaches and performs at the Central Academy of Opera, China and used to work at PKU Academy of Opera.

Mr. Tong WANG, violinist, currently studying at China Central Conservatory of Music. He has played violin at many musical events worldwide and collaborated with Yo-Yo Ma at a series of performances in Asia in 2016.

Ms. Yang LIU, opera singer, graduated from Manhattan School of Music. Ms. Liu has won numerous awards in China and abroad and performed at many international music festivals.

Mr. Jiawei ZHANG, is the lead clarinettist of China Youth Symphony Orchestra. He was admitted to Central Conservatory of Music in 2014. He served as guest clarinettist with China Philharmonic Orchestra, China National Symphony Orchestra, China Broadcasting and Film Symphony Orchestra and Beijing Symphony Orchestra.
