A group of 18 scholars will join David Audretsch from IU Bloomington’s SPEA, for a workshop focusing on identifying and learning from places in Europe, ranging from cities to regions and states, that been able to leverage the opportunities afforded from contemporary globalization rather than succumbing as a victim. The event will draw on the expertise and competencies of high level experts by bringing together leading scholars and policy makers from Europe and Indiana University. These experts will span a broad spectrum of academic, scholarly and policy backgrounds, ranging from political science to economics, sociology, management, geography and psychology, in order to identify and analyse what facilitates the competitiveness of particular places within the European Union and what impedes competitiveness.
