The reception on February 12 at the IU India Gateway honors the All India Confederation of the Blind and all attendees of the 2nd Indo-US Workshop on Assistive Technologies for the Blind and Visually Impaired, which will open that morning at the Indian Institute of Technology – Delhi. The workshop has been co-organized by IIT-Delhi and the School of Informatics and Computing, IUPUI. The reception is hosted by the SoIC to announce the formation of a sister school relationship between its long-time research partners at the Indiana School for the Blind and Visually Impaired and our new collaborators at the Captain Chandanlal Special School for the Blind, operated by the All India Confederation of the Blind in Gurgaon, India (outskirts of Delhi).
To our knowledge, this will be the first international sister school partnership between two schools for the blind, and the SoIC is proud to offer its technical and scholarly support. We believe this will open many doors for innovative research and for enhancing the educational and intercultural experience of students in both countries.
