Christina has been working with the OIS since March 2010. She oversees front desk operations for the office, coordinates enrollment and billing for international health insurance, and ensures all clients who visit the OIS are properly assisted.
Christina obtained her B.A. in English from IU in 2004 and liked Bloomington so much that she decided to start her career at IU with the University Division Records Office in 2005.
She had aspirations to work with international students in a higher education setting and was lucky to find a place at the OIS. She likes working at the OIS because it gives her the opportunity to interact with students and scholars from around the globe and learn new things every day.
Christina is originally from Hawai’i and has lived in or traveled to various locations in the United States and abroad, thanks to her father’s service in the U.S. Army and her willingness to explore new places.
She considers herself to be a “foodie,” since she appreciates all kinds of foods and likes to eat at different restaurants. Her favorite restaurants in Bloomington include Sweet Grass, Upland Brewing Co., and Anatolia. Aside from cooking and eating, Christina occupies her time by visiting the Bloomington Farmers’ Market, running at the SRSC or on one of Bloomington’s many outdoor trails, reading the Harry Potter series, and lounging at home with her cat.
