Under the direction of OVPIA leadership, our offices support the university’s international educational and research goals at home and abroad by providing resources and programs for faculty, students, and alumni.

Global Gateway Network

This office connects the IU community to strategically important countries around the globe through a network of offices that help IU faculty, staff, students, alumni, and partners advance their academic and professional interests in those countries and regions.

International services

IU Indianapolis Office of International Affairs

The IU Indianapolis Office of International Affairs (OIA) serves as the hub of international activities in Indianapolis.

OIA:

Coordinates recruitment and admissions for international students
Provides support for international students at IU Indianapolis and visa services for international students and scholars
Administers IU Indianapolis study abroad programs and supports the internationalization of the IU Indianapolis curriculum

Office of International Services

The Office of International Services (OIS) handles international recruitment and admissions for IU Bloomington and provides support for international students and scholars on already on campus.

OIS:

Provides support and immigration services for international students, faculty, and visiting scholars
Oversees international student recruitment, admissions, orientation, and advising processes
Assists international students and scholars with financial matters, tax issues, and personal issues
Liaises with staff who support international students at our regional campuses

Education Abroad

Education Abroad facilitates and oversees study abroad programs for IU students.

Its services include:

Helping students integrate study abroad into their academic plans without compromising their ability to graduate on time
Working to keep programs affordable
Giving need- and merit-based scholarships
Assisting faculty and staff with program development
Monitoring and reviewing programs

Office of International Development

This office administers externally funded contracts and grants that provide technical assistance and institution-building support in developing countries.

Office of International Partnerships

The Office of International Partnerships develops and oversees university-wide partnerships with strategically important educational institutions abroad.

It also develops and administers university-wide exchange programs for faculty and students and coordinates the review and approval of other international academic activities.

Center for the Study of Global Change

The Center for the Study of Global Change at Indiana University is dedicated to fostering global learning and engagement through innovative partnerships and interdisciplinary research. The center promotes understanding of global issues by creating diverse and inclusive learning environments. It supports various academic programs, outreach initiatives, and research efforts that prepare students and scholars to navigate and impact the interconnected world.

Honors Program in Foreign Languages

This program offers high school students in Indiana “total immersion” foreign language programs in Austria, Chile, China, France, Germany, Japan, Mexico, and Spain.
