Diplomacy Lab is a partnership between the U.S. Department of State and U.S. colleges and universities. Each semester the State Department releases a project menu covering a wide range of complex global challenges like women’s economic empowerment, sustainable development, human rights, countering violent extremism, global health, and energy security.
Engage students and faculty in U.S. State Department foreign policy projects
Partner schools bid on projects, and if they are awarded, faculty and students conduct research and develop a final work product that addresses the real-world issues and goals outlined in the bid. Students have the unique opportunity throughout the semester to collaborate with State Department officials.
IU is the only partner with two campuses approved to bid on Diplomacy Lab projects.
