IU's Gateway in Bangkok

Opening in February 2019, the IU ASEAN Gateway is located in an office suite in central Bangkok and serves as a hub to support IU in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations region.

This location reaffirms long-standing partnerships with leading educational institutions, allowing the university to explore areas of mutual interest relating to ASEAN business, education, government and culture and expanding IU's international engagement in this important region of the world.

Our facilities

Our open-plan office has a flexible meeting and event space for up to 25 people with videoconferencing.

Funding opportunities

A variety of funding mechanisms are available to support research activities at the Global Gateways.

Provides matching support of up to $5,000 for activities – such as workshops, symposia, public talks, and artistic performances – that take place at one or more of IU's Global Gateway offices.

CAHI Global Gateway grants are administered jointly by the College Arts and Humanities Institute (CAHI) and IU Global. For College faculty whose primary area of research or creative activity is in the arts and humanities, these grants support activities that take place at one or more of IU’s Global Gateways. Together, CAHI and IU Global will provide joint funding of up to $10,000.
