Biography

Mai-Lin Poon joined the Office of International Services in December 2015 as associate director for international student life.

Mai-Lin is a second generation Chinese American from upstate New York. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and Psychology with a concentration in legal studies at Bucknell University. She went on to earn her master’s and education specialist degrees in counseling and counselor education at Indiana University.

Mai-Lin enjoys working with students and helping them to achieve their personal and professional goals, such as planning cultural events for the campus community or finding that perfect internship.

When she isn’t working with students, you can find her at the farmers’ market, discovering new restaurants and trying new foods, or travelling to weird and quirky places (she once drove three hours just to see the world’s largest wind chime and even got to ring it!).
