An Indianapolis native, Marielle returned to Indiana after receiving dual degrees in Spanish and Interdisciplinary Humanities in Music, Spanish, and Chinese from Michigan State University. Their interest in collaborative innovation and desire to break down complex issues led them to pursue Herron School of Art + Design’s Graduate Certificate in Design Thinking, which they completed in 2021.

Before joining Indiana University’s Global Marketing and Communications team in 2018 first in Indianapolis, then in Bloomington in 2022, Marielle worked in museums, secondary education, and the non-profit sector. Marielle is passionate about continuing to shape IU’s international reputation across all 9 campuses and the globe with a particular eye towards visual storytelling.

When not planning their next trip or exploring locally-owned restaurants across Bloomington and Indianapolis you can find Marielle out hiking, playing board games, making mediocre but enthusiastic art, reading, and bothering their cat.
