Domonic M. A. Potorti has worked in the Office of International Services since 2003, and has been an international student advisor for immigration and acculturation issues since 2005.
He earned a bachelor’s degree in anthropology from the University of Maine in 2002 before coming to IU in 2003 to earn a master’s degree in Central Eurasian Studies (Turkish specialization, focusing on the creation and consumption of tourism media/ anthropology of travel). He lived in Turkey for a semester on an exchange program at Bilkent University in Ankara, and has a passion for the cultures, histories and geographies of the Eastern Mediterranean and Central/South Asia.
Domonic has been conducting and co-conducting IU Human Resources seminars relating to intercultural communication/awareness and the international student experience at Indiana University since 2010, and works frequently with faculty, staff and students relating to cultural adjustment and effective intercultural communication.
