The education of adults takes many forms, including community development, personal development, and workforce education. Students in Forms and Forces of Adult Education explore contemporary structures of adult education and the economic, political, and cultural forces that shape the field. As part of the Global Classrooms Initiative, IU students will partner with students from the University of Glasgow's international adult education master's program to research the impact of globalization on adult education across international contexts. Participants will develop dialogues that address issues such as migration, technology, gender, culture, economics, employment, and policy from multiple perspectives. Students develop a deeper understanding of global forces influencing adult education and increase their intercultural competence.
