Research
HSE operates more than 100 research institutes and centers, and more than 30 international laboratories led by foreign scholars, including the Nobel laureate Eric Maskin and the Fields medal laureate Andrey Okunkov. It was the first state-run university in Russia to recruit international academic professionals. HSE’s top five areas of research are social sciences, mathematics, computer science, arts and humanities, as well as economics, econometrics, and finance.
Engagement with IU
- HSE has a primary agreement and a sub-agreement with IU, which establishes a system-wide faculty exchange that includes both the Moscow and St. Petersburg campuses.
- The College of Arts and Sciences on the IUB campus has an undergraduate student exchange agreement with the HSE – St. Petersburg campus.
- IU's Russian and East European Institute and the Russian Studies Workshop have created strong research connections with HSE faculty that have resulted in multiple joint research workshops at the IU Europe Gateway.
