IU's formal partnership with Sungkyunkwan University (SKKU) was initiated in late 2008. The relationship has strengthened over the years and has become one of IU's most successful university-wide partnerships. There are multiple linkages with IU's academic programs, including the Kelley School of Business, Maurer School of Law, and College of Arts and Sciences. IU-Bloomington Provost Lauren Robel visited SKKU in December 2013 and March 2014 to advance discussions for the School of Informatics and Computing to assist SKKU with the creation of its informatics school. The primary, university-level agreement was renewed in 2019 for another five year period.
