IU President Michael McRobbie signed a partnership agreement with University of Campinas (UNICAMP) during his November 2012 trip to Brazil. Over the past 15 years, researchers at IU's Anthropological Center for Training and Research on Global Environmental Change (ACT) have engaged with colleagues at UNICAMP on major projects funded by the NIH, NSF, and other agencies. The Jacobs School of Music at IU has, at various times, collaborated with music faculty at UNICAMP. The agreement also helped facilitate the mobility of UNICAMP students to IU through the Brazilian Scientific Mobility Program. The agreement was renewed in November 2017 for another five year period.
