Contacts between Indiana University and Jagiellonian University date back to 1985, and the two universities have maintained a partnership since 1997 that involves both faculty and graduate student exchanges. Exchange participants since 2009 have represented a variety of disciplines, including music, Slavic languages and literatures, and law. In 2014, as a result of an IU law faculty member visiting Jagiellonian University on exchange, the IU Maurer School of Law entered into a multi-lateral partnership with Jagiellonian University and Warsaw University.Jagiellonian University, founded in 1364, is the oldest university in Poland, the second oldest in Central Europe, and one of the oldest in Europe. It is a comprehensive university located in the historic city of Krakow.
