European Encounters are informal conversations between Indiana University faculty and peer(s) in Europe on a specific topic of joint interest. The peers can be faculty at European universities as well as IU alumni, or other contacts in the region, with whom faculty would like to connect to discuss joint interests, provide insights on current events, or share recent scholarly and creative activities.
In some cases, this will be contacts of the IU faculty, in others contacts of the Gateway, at partner institutions in the region, or other. The meetings are casual, like a conversation over a coffee or tea, and are intended to last 45-60 minutes.
Sessions take place virtually, and will be organized, promoted and facilitated by the Europe Gateway.
