Our faculty and visiting scholars lead the way in our efforts to promote global engagement. Hundreds work on international and global issues, including more than 350 at IU Bloomington alone.
You’re at the heart of our international efforts
The 1,100 international scholars we welcome each year add another dimension to our efforts, lending their varied perspectives and differing worldviews to all that they do.
We support international research and teaching through partnerships and exchange programs with institutions of higher education overseas, tools for navigating the policies and procedures governing international activities, and various grants, including those to help you develop study abroad programs or bring distinguished visitors to campus.
Participate in a faculty exchange program
We have partnered with leading higher education institutions around the world to offer our faculty and librarians the opportunity to participate in short-term exchange programs.
Most programs are between two weeks and one month in length and offer you unique research opportunities and experiences. If chosen for an exchange program, you will receive funding to cover airfare and a reasonable living stipend.Learn more about faculty exchange programs
Take advantage of international research resources
Whether you need funding or are in search of a high-speed network that enables you to share large amounts of data with overseas partners, we can help.
If you are a faculty member at IUPUI, you can apply for a grant through the International Partnership Development Fund, designed to enhance collaborative research with an existing IU international partner. Up to five awards are made each year.
